| Abstract: | This invention discloses the improved shape-memory polyurethane composites enabled by the reinforcement of Ti3C2 MXene and preparation thereof. The method consists of mixing SMPU with Ti3C2 MXene materials. MXene enabled improved SMPU-Ti3C2 MXene composites were prepared by incorporating Ti3C2 MXene material in the SMPU matrix through mixing in a twin-screw micro compounder followed by injection molding. In some embodiments, the SMPU forms the polymer matrix and Ti3C2 are homogeneously dispersed within the SMPU matrix. The SMPU-Ti3C2 MXene composites show improved thermal, electrical, shape switching function, and tribological properties. The SMPU-Ti3C2 MXene composites can readily recover to their original shape following numerous thermal cycles compared to pristine SMPU, and the developed material has wide application prospects in the field of intelligent components. |
