Abstract:
The essential organelle known as the ER plays a key role in numerous cellular activities, such as calcium storage, lipid synthesis, and protein folding. During ER stress, there is an accumulation of unfolded or misfolded proteins within the ER, which can lead to changes in the viscosity of the ER lumen. Changes in ER viscosity can have important implications for the function of the ER and the cell. Researchers have developed several methods to detect ER stress in living cells and tissues, including imaging techniques and biochemical assays. These methods have shown promise in detecting ER stress in animal models of Alzheimer?s Disease (AD) and in human patients. While ER stress is not yet used as a diagnostic marker for AD, it has the potential to be a valuable tool for early detection and monitoring of the disease. Further research is needed to determine the specificity and sensitivity of ER stress markers in AD, as well as their utility in predicting disease progression and response to treatment. This is critical for early diagnosis and treatment, as ER stress is believed to play a key role in the pathogenesis of AD. The probe Formula I can be further used to develop suitable to develop diagnostic kit as for understanding changes during stress conditions with respect to ER in real time.
