Title:

Innovative Precast Segmental Concrete Footing

Value Proposition:

The proposed novel segmental construction technique which utilises prefabricated precast multiple reinforced concrete (RC) units and tie rods, in which the tie rods are used to create a pre-torque force which enables the multiple RC units to act as monolithic behaviour of footing system. This proposed innovative precast segmental concrete footing system tends to reduce time lag lost in curing of the footing and negates the use of heavy machinery for erection and aids in immediate transfer of loads from column to footing. The proposed innovative precast segmental concrete footing with pre-torque mechanism is an excellent technology for the future.

Summary Application:

The proposed technology can be extensively deployed in construction of isolated foundations in residential, industrial and Infrastructure applications such as buildings, factories, communication and transmission tower structures etc., Implementation of this technology significantly reduces the duration of the construction project which enables/ ensures the construction of the superstructure from the day of foundation erection and faster use of the building for its intended function which ensures commercial benefits.

Advantages:

This proposed Innovative precast segmental concrete footing is compact, easy to integrate, ease in handling and installation/erection and construction of superstructure immediately after footing installation, savings in time and cost in terms of labour and construction and better performance.
