| Abstract: | The present invention relates to a processed iron and steel slag aggregate-based ready to-use pothole repair mix composition. The composition comprising:57.94-100weight % of processed Steel Slag Aggregates (BOF and EAF Steel Slag); 38.62-0 weight % of processed Iron Slag Aggregates (BF Slag); 3.38-6.0 weight % of Customized Modified Bituminous Binder (CMB) by weight of aggregate composition; and 0.048-0.1 weight % of antioxidants 15 by weight of aggregate composition 60-100 weight % of processed Steel Slag Aggregates (BOF and EAF Steel Slag);40 -0 weight % of processed Iron Slag Aggregates (BF Slag);3.50 - 6.0 weight % of Customized Modified Bituminous Binder (CMB) by weight of aggregate composition; and0-0.05% weight % of antioxidants by weight of CMB.. The CMB is a volatile solvent-based polymeric binder comprising: 83-89 weight % of viscosity-graded 20 bitumen binder; 14-7 weight % of volatile solvent; 1.5-2 weight % of cationic surfactants; and 1.5-2 weight % of a polymeric pressure-sensitive compound in latex form. Instant pothole repair mix can be placed into the waterlogged pothole without any dewatering need. It’s an easy to compact mix which can be utilized under heavy traffic roads to repair distressed road surface without any substantial disruption to traffic. |
