Title:

JAIVAM – An Engineered Microbial System for Accelerated Aerobic Composting

Value Proposition:

JAIVAM enables households, institutions, municipalities, and waste management operators to rapidly convert organic waste into high-quality compost within two weeks using a scientifically validated, genetically identified bacterial consortium. It ensures safe, odour-free, and accelerated aerobic composting while enhancing the agronomic value of the final compost product.

Summary Application:

JAIVAM is designed for accelerating aerobic composting of organic waste across multiple scales, including:

  • Household kitchen waste composting units
  • Community-level composting systems
  • Institutional waste management facilities
  • Organic Waste Converter (OWC) units
  • Municipal solid waste organic fraction processing

Application dosage: Approximately 50 g of JAIVAM per 1 kg of kitchen waste, enabling compost completion within ~2 weeks under aerobic conditions.

The product is particularly suitable for decentralized waste management models and compliance with solid waste management regulations promoting source-level processing.

Advantages:
  • Scientifically Validated Consortium: Genetically identified bacterial strains (16S rRNA characterized).
  • Proven Biodegradation Efficiency: Hydrolytic activity against carbohydrates, proteins, fats, cellulose, and hemicellulose.
  • Pathogenicity & AMR Assessed: Safe-to-handle bacteria susceptible to antibiotics.
  • Accelerated Composting: Reduces composting cycle to ~2 weeks.
  • Odour & Fly Control: Minimizes foul smell and vector nuisance.
  • Plant Growth Promotion: Includes bacteria with plant growth-promoting activity, enhancing compost value.
  • 100% Organic Medium: No synthetic additives.
  • Scalable Deployment: Suitable from small domestic units to large OWC systems.
Commercialization Status: Already Commercialised
