Due to increasing population and migration from rural to urban areas requires fast tract construction techniques to fulfil the housing demand in one aspect and the second aspect, the sustainability of natural material has to ensure, without escalating the cost of dwelling units. The lightweight panel is fabricated with ferrocement skins at the extreme surfaces and interfaced with composite connector system which ensured the structural efficiency of panel for both walls and roofs. The cost of construction is coming down compared to conventional building construction. CSIR-SERC has conducted numerous experimental and numerical investigations and improved the mental accessibility of engineers from MSME, entrepreneurs and precast industries. This developed technology from CSIR-SERC has a potential to deliver a housing at an affordable price.
