Abstract:
Magnetically Controlled Drug Delivery Device Disclosed is a device and method for magnetic field stimulated drug release from drug loaded magnetic hydrogel. The  device of the present invention comprises of integrated parallel electromagnets that can be modulated by variable current source and magnetic hydrogel. The magnetic  hydrogel includes a cross-linked porous matrix of natural or synthetic hydrophilic polymer, a magnetic nanoparticle, and a model drug. The magnetic field strength on  the magnetic hydrogel can be varied by altering the source current and distance between the two parallel electromagnets in the wearable device. The quantity of drug  release from the drug loaded magnetic hydrogel can be controlled by externally varying magnetic field strength. Further, the invention supports a wide possibility of  application scenarios for biomedical, biotechnology and pharmaceutical, and related development of drug delivery products.
