Marigold Oleoresin Preparation

 

Value Proposition:

Marigold oleoresin is a natural pigment extract obtained from the petals of marigold flowers. The extract is rich in carotenoids, particularly lutein, which impart bright yellow to orange coloration. This natural colorant is widely valued in food, feed, and nutraceutical industries due to its coloring ability and antioxidant properties. Processing marigold petals into oleoresin enhances the stability, concentration, and commercial value of the natural pigments.

Summary Application:

The preparation process involves collecting fresh marigold petals, drying them, and grinding into powder. The powdered petals are subjected to solvent extraction to obtain pigment rich oleoresin containing carotenoids. The extract is then filtered and concentrated to remove solvent traces. The resulting oleoresin is used as a natural colorant in foods, beverages, poultry feed, and nutraceutical formulations where yellow or orange pigmentation is desired.
