| Title: | Method for Enhancing the Bearing Capacity of Existing Structures Using Steel Fibre Reinforced Grout Column |
| Value Proposition: | The main objective of the invention is to develop a post construction ground improvement technology-inclined steel fiber reinforced grout (SFRG) columns, for improving the load-bearing characteristics for the footings of existing structures, based on physical model studies. |
| Summary Application: | The invention is based on material characterization, physical and numerical simulation of vertical and inclined SFRG columns for Alluvial soil. This can be directly applied to field after a trial load test on a sacrificial column. Normalized graphs can be utilized for predicting the ultimate bearing capacity of any structural footing on loose to dense alluvial soil. Wherever additional loads need to be provided in cases likes adding additional floor for multi storey buildings, limiting the excessive settlement of structures etc.; the developed technology will be extremely useful. |
| Advantages: | Wherever additional loads need to be provided in cases likes adding additional floor for multi storey buildings, limiting the excessive settlement of structures etc.; the developed technology will be extremely useful. |
