| Abstract: | The present invention relates to the development of a novel method and system for operating a capacitive piezoelectric stack actuator. In this process, square pulse is generated from a digital control unit to supply to the piezoelectric stack actuator which is then amplified to about 110 Volt by amplification unit that are fed with 24 Volt battery power supply. An appropriate opto-coupler based circuit is used for isolation of the control unit and switching unit, using light emitting diode and transistors in totempole circuit configuration. Metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor based switching and driving circuit is designed to generate desired high switching frequency pulse of about 3 kHz to actuate the piezoelectric stack actuator elements through designed inductor based oscillator unit. The advantage of the present invention is that it allows a high voltage, high switching frequency actuation of the piezolelectric actuator which is useful in several high speed piezoelectric motor applications. | ||
