| Abstract: | The present invention generally relates to a field of catalysis and ligand design in organocatalytic and organometallic chemistry. Specifically, the present invention relates to use of N-Heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) as catalysts for the metal-free Tsuji-Trost type allylation reaction of aldehydes with Morita-Baylis-Hillman adducts. More particularly, the present invention relates to compound of formula 1 representing the substituted methylene enyl ester keto compounds of formula I and substituted methylene dienyl ketone diester compounds of formula II, and process of preparation thereof. Further, the present invention relates to preparation of Sacubitril API using said compound of formula I as starting material or intermediate. |
