Summary Application:
  • Microbial strain Schizochytrium sp.(SC-1), isolated from marine source and starting material -glucose and proteins are used  for production of DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid).
  • The strain under optimized conditions produces about 30-35% DHA in total oil contents.
Advantages:
  • The strain is GRAS microorganism isolated from marine source
  • Process waste has to be treated before it is discharged to the environment
Commercialization Status: Licensed awaiting commercialisation
