Title:

Micropropagation Protocols for Medicinal, Endangered and Economically Important Plants

Value Proposition:

Micropropagation is an efficient in vitro technique used for the rapid multiplication of monk fruit (Siraitia grosvenorii), a valuable medicinal and natural sweetener-producing plant. This approach enables the production of large numbers of genetically uniform and disease-free plants within a short time. Micropropagation overcomes the limitations of conventional propagation, such as low seed viability and slow vegetative growth.

Summary Application:

Micropropagation protocols have been developed for potato, Dendrocalamus hamiltonii (maggar bamboo), Dendrocalamus asper, Phyllostachys pubescens (moso bamboo), Crocus sativus (saffron), Chlorophytum comosum (spider plant), Ajuga parviflora (neelkanthi), and Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender), Ammmomum subulatum (large cardamom),  to meet the increasing demands of industry, forestry and entrepreneurs.

  • Produces large number of disease-free and quality planting material throughout the year.
  • The method is a season independent and upscalable.
  • Consultancy to establish tissue culture laboratory.
