The present invention relates to a multipass concentric cylindrical membrane distillation [MD] module to treat saline and wastewater. The present invention comprises  of shells, end plates, membranes, support nets, nuts and bolts. The present invention provide membrane distillation module with enhanced efficiency, flexibility, and  compactness, making it possible to integrate vacuum membrane distillation and direct contact membrane distillation functionalities within a single unit. The invention  uses flat sheet membranes in a multi-pass concentric cylindrical module design, making the module high packing density, scalable, and energy efficient. The present  invention uses only one permeate stream for two feed channels simultaneously, saving the energy of flowing another permeate and material to create another permeate  channel. Apart from this, for two feed channels, one pump is used, saving the energy of pumping and feeding the other feed water.
