Summary Application:

Tea is undoubtedly the most widely consumed beverage in the world, cherished for its rich flavours, soothing aromas and cultural significance across diverse societies. Tea is typically brewed or infused using hot water to extract its flavours, colours and aromas. Currently, tea bag used for this purpose often incorporates paper with heat-sealable polymers. While cellulose-based, non-toxic alternatives exist, but uses of plastic remain a significant concern, particularly regarding its potential health risks. This necessitates truly plant based alternatives which offers a healthy, harmful chemical-free and plastic-free tea bag. To solve this issue, CSIR-NEIST  has developed natural tea bag from plant sources which is not only free from harmful chemicals and micro-plastics but also maintains quality and enhances the tea flavour,. thus making it more favourable.

Advantages:
  • Product tested at CSIR-NEIST and third party evaluation of product quality accredited by NABL/ ISO 17025:2017 and recognized by APEDA, EIC, FSSAI, Tea Board and FDA.
  • It will provide added value to farmers, supporting rural livelihoods and ecological balance while boosting tea industries and rural economy.
