Title:

Passive Daytime Radiative Cooling Coating and a Process for Preparation Thereof

Value Proposition:

The invention provides clean, sustainable, energy-efficient, maintenance-free, costeffective, and environmentally friendly, PASSIVE DAYTIME RADIATIVE COOLING (PDRC) COATING for domestic and industrial applications. The coating has qualified several durability tests, such as resistance to weathering and wear, sand and dust exposure, and chemical conditions (acid/base), while complying with RoHS and REACH
standards. This coating gives alterative cooling solution with respect to active cooling
system which consumes a large amount of energy. The coating solution reduces the
green house emissions, thereby mitigating global warming.

Summary Application:
  • Energy, Environment & Construction
  • The global PDRC coating market is valued at approximately $25 million in 2026 and
is projected to expand at an explosive CAGR of 22% to 28% through 2034
Advantages:
  • Formulation incorporates radiative filler materials and resin matrix having high
solar reflectivity to give optimal coating performance
  • Coating formulation suitable within the solar spectrum range of 250 to 2500 nm
with significantly high emissivity in the atmospheric transparency window (ATW) of
8 to 13 micron, exhibiting a high solar reflective index (SRI) value of > 100
  • Low density and good adhesion
  • Simple and cost-effective spray formulation
  • A surface temperature reduction of 3-100 degree C in the temperature range of 35-600 degree C
with respect to an uncoated surface
  • No use of fluorine-based polymer matrices, rare earth dopants, high filler loadings,
multi-layer structures, or high-temperature curing processes
  • Simple and user friendly coating formulation
  • The coating is suitable for various surfaces, including concrete, wood, metal, glass,
cloth, ceramic tile, composite material, etc
