Abstract:
The present invention discloses a pilot scale refractory lined gasifier with oxygen enriched air blown pressurized fluidized bed having a feed capacity of 1.5TPD for gasifying coal, biomass, coal washery waste and blends thereof in any ratio in the actual atmosphere of a commercial gasifier. The system is configured such that it can operate in air/oxygen enriched air/steam and mixtures thereof in any ratio depending on the process requirements. The invention discloses a gasifier, the feeding rate bearing capacity of which is up to 60 kg/hour, the maximum working temperature is up to 1050oC, and the pressure is up to 10kg/cm 2. The facility consists of different parts of gas and solid feed, gasification, ash discharge and gas cooling and cleaning. In addition to gasification performance analysis, the invention also discloses research on agglomeration characteristics, entrainment and other fluidized bed gasification related parameters.
Startup Options: ADVANTAGES OF THE INVENTION:
  • The said system has distinct advantages of having solid fuel feeding system comprising of variable RPM multi-pocket rotary feeder, screw feeder and two feed nozzles connected to the feeder assembly having different inclination, one is just above the distributor and another is above the bed in the gasifier to handle coal; biomass; washery rejects; and their blends in any proportion in the actual atmosphere which prevails in the commercial gasifier ensuring combustion of some fraction of the feed to provide enthalpy to drive endothermic gasification of the reaming feed to generate syngas for thermal and various downstream applications. Further, while one nozzle is being used for feeding, the other may be used for bed sampling during the experimental run.
