Portable Temporary Building Unit (PTBU)

This Portable Temporary Building Unit (PTBU) is collapsible in nature, lightweight, and can be assembled in 30 minutes by a set of four unskilled labours. The unit can be used as a stand-alone as well many units can be assembled to construct a temporary shelter. Two beds and one bathroom can be easily accommodated in a single PTBU.

The units can be used for Disaster prevention shelters, temporary housing, isolation shelters etc. The collapsed structural form can be expanded very quickly, and it will shape like a building unit within a very short time.

• Dimensions: 0.3 x 0.3 x 1.5m in collapsible (Packaged) form and 4m x 4m x 3.5m in expandable form

• Weight: Typically, < 200 Kg for one storey unit

• Assembling time: The structural system of CBUs can be assembled at the site within 30 minutes with the help of four unskilled persons who can be trained in 1 hr.

• Optional Foundation / anchorage with the ground: A self-driven foundation system can be used as a fixing arrangement of the structure with the ground.
