| Abstract: | The present invention provides an efficient process for extraction of Li from lepidolite ore(s)/minerals, with an overall Li recovery efficiency higher than 92%. The invented process employs (i) an innovative chloride leaching route for achieving 99% Li dissolution efficiency and (ii) employs high temperature impurity precipitation to minimize Li loss. The overall Li recovery is higher than 92%. The purified leaching solution (Li-brine), was taken for precipitation of high pure industrial grade Li2CO3; wherein the purity of the carbonate is found to be higher than 99.3%. |
