Abstract:
The invention presented here describes a new process for synthesizing the fungicide Mandipropamid in only four steps, resulting in good overall yield. This process is  the shortest known route for creating Mandipropamid to date, and it eliminates the need for several hazardous chemicals, such as sodium cyanide, molecular bromine,  molecular hydrogen gas, phenylacetic acid, coupling reagents, and expensive palladium on charcoal, among others. This makes the process more practical and  environmentally friendly. As a result, it is more economical than any previously reported methods. The process uses inexpensive and readily available starting materials  that are environmentally friendly. Additionally, it is mostly carried out at room temperature, avoiding the need for cryogenic conditions or lengthy refluxing.
