 Technology Profile

Title:

Process for the Isolation of Organic Compounds Useful for the Treatment of Cancer

Value Proposition:

The main component plant is abundantly available plants throughout India. Novel purification protocol costs less and quick isolation. Total yield is high in EtOAc extract, which may be a useful for cancer treatment.

Pharmacokinetics study indicated that the compounds are easily absorbable in blood stream and there is no production of secondary metabolites.

Showed anti-cancer activity in low dose against glioma and cervical cancer cell lines Normal cells [heart, liver, muscle and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC)] showed minimum sensitivity by in vitro testing. Minimum toxic effects.

This combination therapy reduced dose of highly toxic two known anticancer agent (cisplatin and paclitaxal).

Multiple administration modes (oral, intravenous, intramuscular or subcutaneous rout) were available of these active components for the in vivo treatment.

Summary Application:

Anti-cancer.

The technology is very useful for the treatment of glioma and cervical cancers.
