Process for the Preparation of Coconut Oil based Soap Solution

Glycerol and water are mixed together and KOH is slowly added to this mixture with increasing temperature. This alkaline mixture is cooled to room temperature and poured into warm coconut oil containing olive oil and mixed together. During the addition, the temperature is controlled at 50-60 oC. The stirring is to be continued for 4 to 5 hours after which the mixture thickens and becomes more translucent. At this stage, the reaction is stopped. The translucent material may be kept overnight as such, for self-cooking. For a good smell and color, essential perfume and colorants is added.
