Title:

Production of Silicon Carbide Powder from Rice Husk/Rice Husk Ash (RHA)

Value Proposition:

Waste like rice husk is creating huge land/soil pollution in major rice producing states in India. Burning it in open creates lot of pollution

Summary Application:

Rice husk/ RHA contains silicon dioxide which can be converted to silicon carbide using thermal plasma. At high temperature, SiO2 reacts with the carbon to form silicon carbide.

Silicon carbide is  used in Steel, abrasives, automobile, electronics sector for its wide application

Advantages:

Plasma processing is very fast and efficient; Silicon carbide is  used in Steel, abrasives, automobile, electronics sector for its wide application.

Utilization of waste like rice husk/RHA will reduce soil/land pollution thereby giving a positive impact on environment
