| Abstract: | The present invention relates to one step synthesis process for the preparation of 2-deoxy-2-iodo nucleosides from commercially available glycals and nucleobases under very mild reaction condition and short period of time. The synthesized nucleosides can be used against Japanese Encephalitis Virus that causes neurological illness, and is more prone to children, thereby causing fatal conditions. The present invention provides in vitro studies to show antiviral activity of these newly synthesized nucleoside derivatives against the Japanese Encephalitis Virus (Flavivirus) in the Vero cell line. |
