| Abstract: | It is an object underlying the invention to design and develop the bullet-proof sandwich structure having light weight with the protection level of NIJ-III and easy mounting and dismantle facilities in mob control vehicle (MCV). The said objective is resolved by combining ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) sheet and metal sheet having high hardness with proper mechanical fixing arrangement. To find out the required thickness for both polymer and metal sheet, a detailed numerical analysis is performed. Based on the analysis results, the UHMWPE and metal sheet having required thickness are combined using mechanical fixtures. The developed sheet is tested as per standard method. The successfully developed structure may resolve the issue of developing bullet-resistant body of MCV with minimum cost and weight. Fig. 1 |
