Seismic Full Waveform Tomography (FWT)

Value Proposition:

The migration methods will enhance the seismic image by utilizing the high-resolution velocity models developed from FWT, which is difficult by conventional ray based tomography methods. The improved seismic images play a vital role in reservoir characterization for hydrocarbon exploration. The following are the application areas 

  • Seismic image Enhancement
  • Characterization of the reservoir
  • Drilling site identification 
Summary Application:

The FWT improve the models in multiscale imaging fashion over the iterations from low-frequency to high-frequency. As the frequency increases, the finer details are incorporated in the previous background model. 

Advantages:

Enhancement of seismic image by utilizing the high-resolution velocity models developed from FWT, which is difficult by conventional ray-based tomography methods.
