Title:

Sorbents for Selective, Intermediate Temperature (350-650०C) CO2 Capture

Value Proposition:

Decarbonisaion in a hard to abate steel sector is of top priority and the development of sorbents that operates at point sources of exit are of great significance. CSIR-NIIST in collaboration with Ms Noritake Japan has developed sorbent granules that are capable of selectively capturing CO2 from gas streams that exit in the temperature range of 325-650०C.

Summary Application:

The sorbents are demonstrated to be useful for stove waste gas CO2 capture in steel industry, with a capacity of >3mmol/g at 25 vol% CO2 and 325०C.

Advantages:

100% selectivity for CO2, desorption through temperature swing.
