| Abstract: | The present disclosure generally relates to synthetic heteroaromtic analogues/compounds specifically substituted oxindole based compounds. The invention relates to a substituted (spiro)oxindole based compound of formula I, or 3,3'- disubstituted oxindole compound of formula IA, or spiro[2-H pyran-3,4'-indoline] based compound of formula IB. The invention also relates to process for preparation of said substituted (spiro)oxindole based compound of formula I, or 3,3'- disubstituted oxindole compounds of formula IA, or spiro[2-H pyran-3,4'-indoline] based compound of formula IB. Furthermore, the compound of formula I, IA or IB being substrate/starting material are useful or have applications in preparation of various drug molecules, biologically active natural products, synthetic pharmaceuticals and alkaloid synthesis e.g. amedalin, linopiridine, Isaphenium, etc. Formula (I) |
