Thermal Insulation Paint

Value Proposition:

A simple and cost-effective spray method is employed to develop low density ~1.1 g cm−3 coating on aircraft grade Al alloy and CFRP substrates About 1.3 mm thick coating shows a temperature drop of around 20-25°C when exposed to temperatures of 150-200°C

Summary Application:

A thermal insulation coating was developed indigenously using a simple spray process. Thermal Insulation coating for surface heat shielding application and in particular to address the heating issue on fuselage areas of SARAS aircraft.

Advantages:

The CEMILAC certification of the coating is in progress. Towards this, several environmental and mechanical tests such as salt fog, thermal shock, dolly adhesion, random vibration tests have been carried out. The coating has qualified the random vibration test and complies with the RoHS and REACH regulations. Other important tests as per ASTM and RTCA-DO-160G standards for the certification have been undertaken.
