Title:

Toilet Unit Using Thin Precast Concrete Segmental Panels - Upgraded With Single and Combined Service Core Units

Value Proposition:

Sanitation is the basic fundamental requirement for the rural and urban people. Indian government had a mission Swachh Bharat to eradicate open defecation from India by creating service core facilities to everyone of Indians.

CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (CSIR-SERC) has developed technology with a commitment for lightweight, high quality, strength, long lasting, minimum duration of construction, easy to handle and assemble at site within few hours using the locally available facilities and man power, suitable for mass production and suitable for industrial production at an affordable cost, and further intended for lesser maintenance with reduced water requirements.

Summary Application:
  • The developed technology has huge application in construction industry for developing high quality service core units.
  • The technology has scope in industrial buildings and office buildings for low-cost lightweight cladding system
  • Technology is fully satisfying the requirements for permanent/semi-permanent/Portable security cabins
Advantages:
  • Each and every component are precast at yard, transported and assembled at site within a six hours using an unskilled labours.
  • Very low initial investment for setting-up a precast factory for production
  • Several number of service core units can be assembled at time in a. The inner surface of service core units can also be cast with an inbuilt ceramic tiles for reduced maintenance and water requirements.
  • The roof system is designed for enabling high ventilation and for carrying a load about 1000 kgs which is from the water tank . The entire components are integrated and it ensures the stability of structure.
  • This segmental technology is high Precise technology with Rapid construction features. It is Suitable for both Indian/Western closet.
  • The cost of service core unit with the segmental system is found Lesser than Rs.12000 at the user end. It is developed with ribbed ferrocement concept may lead to a longer service life.
  • The above technology is transferred to following industry clients and several thousands of public have benefited from the technology through these entrepreneurs.
  • The Complete solution including water tank, storage sump and septic tank are developed.
