| Abstract: | The present invention relates to the design and development of a tractor PTO operated leaf collector and shredding machine for the collection of the dry scattered leafs from the road and the ground. The novelty in the design is the simultaneous collection and shredding of the leaves by the machine which is driven by the power obtained from the tractor PTO. One important feature of the machine is that it can collect and shred the leaves in both the forward and reverse motion of the tractor. Another important feature is that it has an easy height adjustable suction duct to increase or decrease the ground clearance. Proper sealing and double strainer design of the container allow less dust and chip flow into the atmosphere. The machine has an in-built shredder mechanism which can shred the leaves simultaneously while collecting. Hence ~70% volume compaction of the collected leaves can be achieved. The machine can be operated with tractors of rating 25 hp and above. It can cover 1.2 m wide road at a single pass. | ||
