| Abstract: | The present invention relates to PMR based ultra-high temperature cured polyimides derived from copolymerization of p-phenylenediamine (PPDA), 4,4?-oxydianiline (ODA) and 3,3',4,4'-benzophenone tetracarboxylic dianhydride (BTDA). The polymerization was performed in the presence of solvents such as alcohol (ethyl alcohol) and aprotic solvents namely N-Methyl pyrrolidone (NMP) and N,N-Dimethyl acetamide (DMAc). The glass transition temperature (Tg) of the cured polyimides was in the range of 429 to 435 0C and 10% of weight loss (T10) was at temperature ranging from 574 to 6000C. The char yield of cured polyimide was more than 50% at 6000C. The PMR based ultra-high temperature cured polyimides show excellent thermal and thermo-oxidative stability. | ||
