Abstract:
The present invention provides a sterilization system that exposes common household items to moderate levels of ultraviolet radiation with the intent of rendering the  exposed surfaces free of microorganisms. The apparatus uses low power, emission wavelength controlled ultraviolet light sources in the form of ultraviolet light  emitting diodes which render a compact form factor with instant warm up and low energy footprint. The apparatus is safe and ensures safety of user from ultraviolet  radiation. For convenience of user, timer circuit based display module and buzzer displays the remaining sterilization time and end of sterilization cycle respectively.  The design also facilitates dual mode of operation wherein the user can operate the apparatus from a distance through remote control for additional safety and constant  driver circuit ensures optimum radiance flux from the ultraviolet light emitting diodes. The present invention is particularly useful for sterilization of common household  items which can be a source of pathogen carrying germs thus preventing highly contagious health diseases along with offering sufficient safety features to prevent  exposure of harmful ultraviolet radiation to users.
Startup Options:
ADVANTAGES OF THE INVENTION
  • An apparatus designed to expose small household items like mobile phones, writing implements, currency notes and coins, jewelry, etc to short wavelength UV light to deactivate surface microorganisms.
  • Low-power sterilization by using a UV light emission source.
  • Environment-friendly operation through controlled emission of UV wavelength.
  • You can operate it through either a remote transceiver or a touch switch placed on top.
  • Portability for on-field operations by using a Li-ion battery source besides 230 V AC power supply.
  • Appropriate embedded control Ensures user safety
  • Optimal radiation from each of the ultraviolet light-emitting diodes
  • Indicated low battery level to the user
  • Provision for USB charging of small electronic gadgets even while the gadget is being sterilized
  • A reflective internal coating within the sterilization chamber of the apparatus improves system efficiency.
  • An embedded timer displays the remaining sterilization time.
  • A buzzer module alerts at the end of the sterilization process.
