Abstract:
The present disclosure discloses a Vanadium-Zinc-Carbide (V2ZnC) material. The present disclosure also discloses a method of preparation of a Vanadium-Zinc- Carbide (V2ZnC) material comprising: a) heating of 8 to 15 % w/w of vanadium aluminium carbide with 85 to 92 % w/w of zinc chloride to obtain a reaction mixture;  b) contacting the reaction mixture with an acid to obtain a pure reaction mixture; and c) washing the pure reaction mixture with deionized water to obtain a Vanadium- Zinc-Carbide (V2ZnC) material. The material has less than or equal to 2.77 % w/w of Al. The present disclosure also discloses a Na metal-based batteries (half cell and  full cell) comprising sodium metal anode containing V2ZnC material, cathode, electrolyte and separator. The material showed regulated plating and stripping at a  higher current and capacity of 8 mA cm-2 and 2 mAh cm-2 respectively with coulombic efficiency close to 99.99 %. [Fig. 1]
