Zinc Gluconate-vitamin C Capsule and Syrup Formulation

CSIR-IIIM Jammu has developed fermentation based technology for production of various gluconate salts including Zinc gluconate, which has been reported to demonstrate higher bioavailability as compared to other zinc supplements. Overall, there is a sound scientific rationale for taking a combination of natural vitamin C and zinc gluconate to support immune function for better potential for defense. Supplementation of Vitamin C and Zinc has shown positive impact on enhancing the immunity.

Keeping in view the current pandemic situation, CSIR-IIIM has developed a capsule and syrup  formulation of natural vitamin C and Zinc gluconate (ZINCONA-C) with the aim to improve immunity for prevention and management of COVID-19. The unique features of the formulation have been highlighted below:

• The main constituents include Malpighia emarginata (Acerola cherry), natural source of Vitamin C which provides maximum amount of Vitamin C as compared to any other natural source Vitamin C and Zinc gluconate, an organic source of zinc
• The formulation has been prepared according to the prescribed RDA of Vitamin C and Zinc in humans
• The combination of natural vitamin C and organic zinc in the formulation (Zincona-C) may be used as immuno booster and modulator. 
• Formulations have been prepared at 3 lakh capsule batch size (capsule formulation) and 1000L batch size for syrup formulation.

The main constituents include Malpighia emarginata (Acerola cherry), natural source of Vitamin C which provides maximum amount of Vitamin C as compared to any other natural source Vitamin C and Zinc gluconate, an organic source of zinc. Both ingradients are the essential components responsible for immunity improvement under influenza, common cold and cough conditions, therefore will be very much helpful to improve the immunity.
